She may also go to your next Dawnguard-storyline quest location if you are doing the dlc's main questline when you dismiss her.

Can you join dawnguard at level 1?
Answer: You can start it anytime by simply going to the fort, but you'll get the quest when you reach lvl 10 by either hearing a comment from a guard about the Dawnguard or meeting an orc called Durak in the first town you visit when you're lvl 10.

Answer: Joining the Dawnguard is generally seen as the “good” option out of the two Dawnguard gives you, but Isran will (obviously and understandably) not work with you if you are a vampire yourself. He'll tell you to find a cure and won't work with you until you do so.
